Welcome
Volunteer Funk Dept. is a non-state-sanctioned institution of dedicated funk players working hard to keep jazz on the dirty edge of law-abiding. In last few years the VFD fellas have played packed shows and festivals with national touring acts like ALO, Will Bernard, Skerik and the Dead Kenny G's, and jazz great Fareed Haque, as well as top regional acts including The Motet, Buckner Funken, Future Jazz Project, and many others.
