The VFD proudly hails from the greater Denver area and has been delivering our finely-crafted blend of funk/soul/jazz music to eager ears since 2005. While occasionally enlisting the services of some top-notch local vocal talents, at our core we are a 5-piece instrumental unit tasked to deliver the funk upon demand and resuscitate all those in need of professional entertainment with a big dose of bumpin' beats. With decades of combined experience, our diverse arsenal of tunes is sure to contain something for everyone.

Drawing influences from a wide-range of artists such as The Meters, James Brown, Karl Denson/Greyboy Allstars, MMW, Grant Green and Herbie Hancock, our primary goal is to keep the grooves movin' and the toes tappin'. Simply stated, we are: Keys, Tenor Sax, Guitar, Bass and Drums. Collectively, we are a group of honest, funk-lovin' cats fighting the good fight and doing our part to keep local music alive and well.
